Explore this island and its hidden treasures
Itinerary
Welcome to Tenerife!
After arriving at the hotel, we will meet for a refreshing welcome cocktail and our first briefing, where we will illustrate the itinerary of our week’s exploration of this beautiful island.
At the end of the day, if there is time, we will go for a walk on the beach as the sun sets.
The next morning we will set off for Santiago del Teide. This wonderful park, with its craters, volcanoes and petrified lava flows, lies around the impressive profile of the Teide volcano. In the afternoon our ride will take us along the west coast of Tenerife to see the “Acantilados de los Gigantes”, the giant rock formations with their sheer vertical walls that drop dramatically into the sea.
Today we will be crossing the western part of Tenerife through the Teno mountains, the La Montañeta forests and then down to Icod de Los Vinos with its natural park and its national living monument that is more than 800 years old: the famous Millenary Dragon Tree.
After a 20-km climb through the villages of El Tanque, we will get to Puerto de Erjos and then we will stop in Chio for a refreshing fruit drink, ‘batido de fruta’.
Today we will be exploring one of the best-kept secrets in Tenerife – Masca Village.
Masca is a small mountain village lying at an altitude of 650 m. To get there, we will go through charming villages on the stunning roads that cut through the mountains and afford breathtaking scenery. On the downhill ride to Garachico, palm forests and a spectacular view of the ocean will accompany us as we head back to the hotel.
The Teide volcano, towering 3718 metres above sea level, dominates the island of Tenerife and is the highest point in the whole of Spain.
The volcano lies in the Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On our bikes we will explore the unspoiled natural park, where the vibrant colours of the sky and its lunar landscape will take your breath away.
Our first destination today is Playa de las Teresitas, one of the most famous beaches in Tenerife, and then we will climb to Belvedere El Bailadero, a spectacular viewpoint in the Anaga Rural Park which is also a World Biosphere Reserve.
We will also make a quick stop at Mirador de Las Mercedes, another scenic spot affording beautiful views of the lagoon and the Teide volcano.
Today, on the penultimate day of our tour, we will visit southern Tenerife on some of the most beautiful roads on the island.
The south of the island has black sandy beaches along the whole of the coast. The Silencio coast is dotted with hidden coves where black cliffs and crystal clear waters meet.
The view over the ocean will take your breath away.
After a good breakfast, it’s time for goodbyes before we set off for home.
